Kids' Media Archaeology Lab

Media archaelogy lab for kids

Create a Media Memory space for young people to directly interact with media of the past.

Directions

  1. Find a space in the library that young people find attractive. (Consult young people beforehand for optimal results in picking a spot!)
  2. Add furniture into the space that are inviting and installed with young people in mind.
  3. Place older media items such as typewriters, walkmans, polaroid cameras, and cassette tape players. (These items are great because they encourage interaction and engagement.)
  4. Create a board on a nearby wall where young people can post polaroid pictures, typewritten documents they create, etc.
